WHAT’S THE BUZZ (FAQ)

How many coffee enemas does one 16 oz. bag of Finely Ground Enema Coffee make?

You should yield about 40 enemas in every bag of coffee! Our beans are designed for regular use and make coffee enemas very cost effective.

What’s the difference between a coffee and a water enema?

In short, coffee enema is regarded as a liver detoxifier; meanwhile, a water enema is for clearing the lower colon of waste. A coffee can indeed stimulate the lower bowel which can cause a bowel movement and trigger better digestion, but it’s regarded first and foremost as a liver detoxifier which may also help boost antioxidant levels, and eliminate parasites, among a myriad of other benefits.

Some people do a water enema before a coffee enema because it helps to remove the waste in the lower colon, allowing for a more effective coffee enema to follow.

How can I clean my products after preparing the coffee solution?

If you’re using the TYG Coffee Plunger, clean it immediately after use with warm soapy water. Good news: Your Plunger is also dishwasher-safe! So you can just throw it in the dishwasher for easy clean-up.

If you’re using a TYG Silicone Enema Kit, we recommend rinsing with soap immediately after to ensure the silicone does not get stained from the solution. Please follow full instructions for washing your kit in your instruction booklet.

I’m sensitive to caffeine. Will a coffee enema make me jittery?

We understand your concern, especially those who may be sensitive to or totally avoid caffeine! Luckily, you should still be able to partake in coffee enemas – no caffeine jitters or similar symptoms. That’s because the coffee within a coffee enema is absorbed differently. It bypasses the digestive system completely and is directly absorbed into the bloodstream.

It stimulates the production of glutathione, the liver’s master antioxidant, boosting liver detoxification and giving you all those lovely benefits like mental clarity, feel-good hormones, and digestion. In fact, many people say they feel calmer after a coffee enema.

If you do experience any lightheadedness, nervousness, etc., you will need to decrease the strength of the coffee solution. Consult your physician if you have any questions regarding this issue.

What type of water should I use to brew the solution?

For your water or coffee enema, you always want to use distilled water or reverse osmosis or filtered water. Do not use tap water. If all you have on hand is tap water, boil it first then allow it to cool to room temperature.

Help! I can’t hold the solution!

Don’t worry, it’s perfectly normal to struggle with holding the enema solution at first. The more you do them, the easier it’ll be. Celebrate the small successes!

How long after will I go poop?

You should get immediate relief. If your colon is very backed up, it may take a few days. Take that as a signal to Trust Your Gut some more – through detoxing and a healthy lifestyle!

Why do I feel bloated after an enema?

If you’re bloated, it could be one of two things:
- You’re backed up, so the enema didn’t clear your entire colon. The rest of the poo is now softened but still there, leaving you feeling extra bloat. You can try another enema to get full relief.
- Your body is dehydrated. Be sure to drink plenty of water during your detox.

Do I need to replace electrolytes?

Yes, hydration is very important! Electrolytes are lost during evacuation, and therefore coffee enemas should always be balanced by juice. The typical ratio is 3:1 (three 8 oz. juices for each coffee enema). Those not on a Gerson Therapy protocol should drink plenty of water.

Should you lay on the left or right side for an enema?

We recommend laying on a towel on your back or on your right side when doing an enema. This position can help you with the insertion and to get the best absorption which leads to maximum benefits! If you choose your right side, allow a bit of extra time when sitting back on the toilet for excreting the solution. Overall, though, any position that you feel the most comfortable in is the best! Having a relaxed, satisfying experience is the main goal!
